Abstract

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grain-oriented electrical steel sheet having better core loss characteristics by clarifying the actual state of a ä110}<001> recrystallization texture responsible for magnetic properties. <P>SOLUTION: The grain-oriented electrical steel sheet with excellent core loss characteristics contains 0.8 to 7 mass% Si and has a secondary recrystallization texture whose principal orientation is ä110}<001>. This steel sheet is characterized in that average deviation angles α, β and γ from the ä110}<001> ideal orientation of the secondary recrystallization texture satisfy (α<SP>2</SP>+β<SP>2</SP>)<SP>1/2</SP>≤γ. In the inequality, the followings are satisfied, with respect to the secondary recrystallization texture: α is an average deviation angle from the ä110}<001> ideal orientation around a normal direction (ND) of a rolling surface; β is an average deviation angle from the ä110}<001> ideal orientation around a direction (TD) perpendicular to a rolling direction; and γ is an average deviation angle from the ä110}<001> ideal orientation around the rolling direction (RD). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
